This book was just beyond enjoyable. It really acquires a good mixture of dark dysfunctional humor with super twisted undertones which is rarely ever executed. Therefore this book is a gem. Think if Helter Skelter meets The Producers, this book will keep you at the mercy of the limits of your own bodily functions from laughter. This book and definitely has me researching the rest of Tim Miller's other books and you should too.Product details

Zombie Reign A Fake Zombie Story (Audible Audio Edition) Tim Miller Heather Ross GutWrench Productions Books Reviews
This is a fairly short book, it only took about two hours to read, and I basically sat down and didn't get up again until I'd finished it (thankfully I waited to start it until after my children were in bed asleep.) I was immediately sucked into the story, although I believe that's due in part to my previous knowledge of the events that inspired it. I would strongly recommend you check out http//timmiller.org for all of the interesting updates on Zombie Reign (the movie) before you read this book.
This story is told in third person, and jumps around between cast members, which allows us to see the story from several different angles. However, with all the jumping around, I never really felt a connection with any of them. A few of them frequently left me feeling appalled, but never connected.
This book is largely dialogue driven and doesn't have a whole lot of lengthy descriptions, which can make it a little difficult to picture the scenes, although it also gives your imagination more free reign to decide what the characters and settings look like, so you can create your own fake movie in your head. The dialogue comes off as a little bit cheesy, but that's pretty typical for satire. It also seems a little absurd at times, but I think that's actually the point since the dialogue is at its most absurd when Clarence or Lisa are talking.
My biggest complaint is that there were several spelling/grammar errors in this story. They didn't completely interfere with the flow, but at times they were a little jarring. For anyone that frequently reads my reviews, you know that means I will be detracting one star from my rating for this.
Overall I give this story 3.5 out of 5 stars. I did thoroughly enjoy it, but the lack of character connection and spelling/grammar errors are an issue for me. I would recommend this book to readers that are also fans of movie parodies.

As being apart of this cast, nothing brings more chills than the fact that is was spot on. Good job!
Although this is not like Tim's normal books, it is definitely a great read! Considering its based on true events which from reading his blog makes it easier to understand..it is great!! Even if you never read the blog it is still definitely worth reading! If you read and like this book you MUST read his other books! They are a lot different from this book but if you are a true horror fan then Tim Miller is your guy!!
This was a very different book from Tim Miller. I followed Tim's blog postings on the "true story" events that were taking place so this story was fun. There is some gore and horror, but nowhere near as much as you'd expect from the norm with Tim. Still, it was an enjoyable read. The characters felt real even if some of them where 'drinking the kool-aid'. I also loved for it ended.
I'd definitely recommend reading both this story and Tim's blog so you get the full experience. And I'd recommend reading Tim Miller in general because he's pretty twisted in a nice, cuddly teddy bear kind of way.
Tim Miller must have had a heck of a good time writing this book, as his humor and sly depictions of the characters make this book a great read with lots of laughs but plenty of "oh, no he didn't" moments too. It's a tale of a slick shyster claiming to be filming a major Hollywood movie in Texas. Miller includes tales of those tricked by the shyster and those who figure out his scheme and try to stop him. Miller's caught the "I wanna be a star" hysteria people fall into so easily and all the problems associated with that, such as the voluntary blindness to what's really going on. My favorite scene involved a red carpet preview for the trailer of the movie. Hilarious. Miller did a good job of capturing the sleaziness and the desperateness of the situation. This horror writer can write humor, that's for sure!
This is an out of the norm quick zombie read inspired by true events, absolutely comical and entertaining! If I could, I would give 10 stars.
This was corny but funny! Easy read, and follow. Knowing this, if your a fan of B horror flicks, your going to enjoy it as much as I did!
